A couple days ago my truck engine light came on. I brought my truck into Cavalier to get looked at. Before I brought it in, I knew what was wrong with it. They told me that I had a cracked spark plug and need to replace it. They recommended that I replace all of them at once. I know replacing them all makes sense. When they called me, with my quote they told me it would be $650 dollars to replace all with labor. So I did my research because I knew that was WAY to high. The average cost to get it done was $250 dollars. I called a second mechanic and was quoted around the average price. I would HIGHLY recommend doing your research before giving this business any money. I do not recommend this place to work on any of my vehicles.

Joe, to determine the cause of your "Truck Engine Light," we began by scanning your truck's computer for codes, and at that time, there were two codes present, "P0300 and P0307". With this information and upon further examination, we determined you had a cracked #7 spark plug. Armed with this vital information, we could now recommend the proper course of action to fix your truck. Here are the facts; please refer to your invoice if you have added questions or concerns. Our quote/estimate was for 8 Iridium Plugs, a Plug wire set, and the labor a total of $404.36; had we only quoted/estimated plugs, it would have been $273.57 as documented on your invoice. I am comforted to see we are right in line with the quotes you received from the other shops. We also recommended and quoted/estimated a fuel injection service. This service costs $130.98. The charge for scanning and diagnostics of these type of concerns is $69.75. Joe, if the way we presented this information to you at the time confused you or did not make sense, I apologize. We are not here to rip people off. I agree with you that every person should arm themselves with knowledge and, when necessary, a second opinion, especially in these days of misinformation and exaggeration. We are all much better off if we can stick to the facts at hand. I hope that with this explanation, you would reconsider your use of our establishment and possibly give us another try in the future. Excellent service! Our vehicle needed an airbag light issue resolved to pass inspection. Cavalier called a local dealership to price the part, and found out it was an issue that would be covered under factory warranty. Instead of charging me to fix it, they referred me to the dealership and it was repaired free of charge! Had they not told us, we wouldn’t have known, and would have paid for the repair. This speaks volumes as to the integrity of this business. We are customers for life!
